1933

The O. Vestergaard-Poulsen knitwear factory is founded in Ikast, Denmark. (later Belika A/S)

1948

Belika starts exporting. The first markets are Norway and Sweden.

1955

Bernhard Sørensen founded Bernhard Sørensen A/S and started the story of Clipper in Herning in 1955 as a passionate entrepreneur.

Clipper became a part of the large industrial development that the Herning area experienced, and Bernhard began by producing locally with small, highly specialized knitting factories. This is a model we still use today – with partners around the world specially selected for their expertise and technical abilities.

1965

The brand name Belika is registered.

1975

Clipper starts exporting. The first markets are Sweden and Germany.

1981

The brand name Clipper is registered.

1982

In 1982, the house of Clipper opened a factory in Herning and kept the production there until 1998.

1984

Headquarters relocates to our current Herning office location at Nakskovvej.

1992

Belika starts production in Poland.

1993

Clipper starts production in Latvia.

1994

In the early 1990s, Clipper Corporate and the brand CC55 was created with the belief that corporate wear deserved the same attention to detail and quality as our everyday wear.

2012

Helle Wagner assumes ownership of the house of Clipper. Membership of the UN Global Compact.

2015

The house of Clipper merges with Belika A/S.

2023

Clipper A/S and selected collections are now labelled with OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100.
