Every knit and purl makes a difference: Corporate Social Responsibility is a non-negotiable

Stitching for change: creating meaningful impact through ethical yarn selection and
knitting practices

Any real and lasting change starts within. That is is why Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an instrumental part of who we are, how we act, and how we operate. Furthermore, in a world where fundamental resources are becoming scarce by the minute, being aware of CSR is a driving force and an intertwined factor in all aspects of our business. That is non-negotiable.

Global Goal 8: Decent work and economic growth

Most of our knitwear is made at our own factory in Latvia. This provides us with full transparency at every stage of our supply chain pertaining to areas such as labour practices, standards of safety, and raw material sourcing.

Clipper is committed to making a positive impact beyond just the quality of our garments. Therefore, we recognize that lasting change starts with prioritizing the well-being of our employees.

Moreover, we offer training and support programs to ensure their health and safety. We believe in fair and ethical labour practices. By investing in the well-being of our employees, we believe that we can create a positive impact that extends beyond just our products.

Global Goal 12: Responsible consumption and production

At Clipper, we believe that fashion should be a reflection of one’s personal style and values. We understand that the fast fashion industry often prioritizes cheap and disposable clothing. Consequently, over quality and longevity.

This cycle not only harms the environment, but also promotes a culture of overconsumption and waste. That is why we focus on creating versatile pieces that can be worn in different ways, on different occasions, and across different seasons. Furthermore, our focus is on only producing smaller collections and quantities. The smaller batch production provides us with less inventory for stock and thus ultimately less waste. Finally, break the cycle of buy and toss; choose with intention and wear for years to come.

Global Goal 15: Life on land

Our commitment to using pure yarns is not just about creating luxurious and comfortable knitwear. We also take animal welfare seriously. Clipper only use mulesing-free and ethically sourced yarns. Because animals living a good life produce more beautiful wool. Making sure our values and culture are reflected in our products.

Clipper prioritize animal welfare, and all our yarns are mulesing-free. That’s to ensure that our products reflect our values and commitment to ethical production. That’s a matter of fact.

Global Goal 17: Partnerships for the goals

To facilitate the grounds for positive change we focus on Corporate Social Responsibility. By complying with the declarations and conventions of the 17 Global Goals, the UN Global Compact and the REACH regulations.

Most products are OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100 certified. This is a well-known label for textile safety and certifies that every component of the product has been rigorously tested for toxic chemicals.

The Woolmark certification mark is a symbol of quality and integrity within the wool industry. Clipper is able to offer our customers a sense of security, knowing that they are purchasing a high-quality, genuine wool product that has been rigorously tested and certified.
